Entertaiment | Articles
Entertainment is an activity that engages the attention agreeably and amuses or diverts. It may be passive, as in watching a movie or attending a concert, or active, such as playing games. It is designed to create enjoyment and provide relaxation or diversion, but it can also have a serious purpose, such as ceremonial occasions, religious festivals, and political satire. The word comes from Latin entertainere, meaning “to amuse,” but its scope has grown to include any kind of enjoyment or relaxation. It has become a very broad concept, with many familiar forms crossing media and re-emerging as new ones.
